Welcome

Hi, looks like you've ended up at my little website! Wait! don't go back, there's plenty on offer here. Jcook Design started out as a venture into the unknow of web design and development. I've now reached the stage where I have my own stable CMS system and a collection of websites running it. I've been designing website for over 5 years now. Every page is a learning experience; both because of the advances in technology and the fast learning curve that web design brings with it. Graphic design, and user friendlyness plays a huge role in a good website, and I aim to tick every box when it comes to both ease of use, and industry standards. Contact me for more info about web design.

Enough about web design and buzz words; more about me. I'm a full time student currently at sixthform with a Mahusive interest in Sound & Light. Mainly live events; concerts and live performances. The Sound page has lots of stuff i've done in the past and hopefully will be kept up to date with everything in the future. For me, web design is more of a hobbie; something I've taught meself and picked up over time.

My blog is updated every now and then whenever I find something interesting or funny. Follow me on Twitter to find my musings.

Tutorials are what helped me learn the PHP and design techniques I now have. It's almost like looking over someone's shoulder when they're creating something. I thought i would start up my own resource bank so I could pass some knowledge on or point you in the right direction for some killer tips. There's also a Sound & Light section to the tutorials which i plan on putting LOTS of entries into! So many companies advise venues badly on what equipment to buy and install so I hope I can put some useful info on there to help everyone make the right choice!

Podcasting is something I have always wanted to do. The possibilities it presents are vast. I really want to start one up so watch this space (I even created a page for it to keep reminding me :p) probably with the help of a few friends.

Well, that's my welcome page done. Now onto the rest of the site!

James.
